Microsoft .Net 2.0 Framework Overview

In order for Diet and Exercise Tracker program to run, your computer must have the Microsoft .Net 2.0 framework installed.

The Microsoft .Net Framework is a collection of files that programs use to be able to run successfully on your computer. Since the Microsoft .Net Framework is shared by many other programs, it might already have been installed on your computer by another program. If you don’t have it installed, you only need to install it *once*.

Running the application without the .Net 2.0 Framework installed

Standalone Version: If you download the standalone version of the program, and you choose to download the installation file that does not include the Microsoft .Net framework, the application will crash if the computer does not have the .Net framework already installed. If this happens you must install the .Net framework.

Online Version: If you are running the online version of the program and you don’t have the .Net 2.0 framework installed on your computer instead of having the application automatically launch, you will get a message similar to the one shown below:

If you get this message, click on the “Cancel” button and proceed to install the .Net framework before continuing.

How to Download and Install the .Net 2.0 Framework

You have several options available to install the .Net framework:

Remember that you only have to install the .Net 2.0 framework once, so the next time you run the online version or download a newer version of the application, you would not need to download the .Net framework again because it would have already been installed on you computer.
